Department of Electrical Engineering


The department of Electrical Engineering was established in Government Polytechnic for Women Jammu in the year 2023 with the objective of producing skilled and competent Diploma Engineers capable of meeting the growing demands of the power, energy, industrial automation and electrical services sector.

The department is committed to providing quality technical education through a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge, practical training and industry- oriented learning.

Electrical Engineering is one of the core branches of Engineering and plays a vital role in power generation, transmission, distribution, electric vehicles, smart grid technologies etc.

An Entrepreneurial awareness camp and a full subject on Generic Skills and Entrepreneurship development have been incorporated in the scheme.

Technical Visits
Provision of technical visits to power plants, grid stations, substations, various industries.
